How to Request Your FBI Background Check

Requesting an FBI background check is a routine part of preparing many immigration cases. It is especially helpful for us to have on file if you have ever been arrested or convicted of anything, even if it happened a long time ago or was later resolved. Having this information ahead of time allows the attorney to review your full picture and advise you accurately.

The fee for the Identity History Summary Check is $18, payable during the online request process. Once your fingerprints have been submitted at the post office, you should receive your results by email within about a week. When you receive your results, please upload them to your client portal so the attorney can review them as part of your case.
